We've been celebrating the 1st Juvenile Justice and Welfare Consciousness Week since Monday, October 22. And tomorrow, October 27, a few kiddos, hm, just around 300 of them, okay now that's a lot!! ^_^ They have a little Surprise for us at SM Mall of Asia By the Bay Area! They hope to see us from 3-6pm.
Pres. Aquino signs Presidential Proclamation No. 489 last October 11, 2012 declaring the fourth (4th) week of October as the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Consciousness Week!
OPM song called “Sige Lang" by Quest, shares a message of hope and of reaching for your dreams together. I heard this song makes kids, and even adults, groove like crazy! Hmmmm.. It seems like it has something to do with the Kiddos' SURPRISE. Watcha think? :)
Some Filipino children are caught in difficult situations, we call them CAR (Children at Risk), and CICL (Children in Conflict with the Law). But JJWC Week shares “Sa RA 9344, Bata, Bida Ka!” We need to help these kids, not judge. And helping them means providing a protective and enabling environment so offending may be prevented and they can grow as how they should be, happy and productive members of our society.
RA 9344 is the first of its kind in Asia. It adheres to the principles of restoratve justice and envisions the child-sensitive justice and welfare system that mandates the allocation of resources for program and services that will protect Filipino children and prevent them from being forced, threatened and pushed to violate our criminal laws.
The Filipino youth is very excited to show us the big difference they can create, if together, they positively and creatively share their energy and spirit of happiness! Aside from that intriguing little surprise, kids will also share IEC (information, education, campaign) and advocacy materials on Juvenile Justice and Welfare! :)
Tomorrow, there will be an artwork display: paintings, songs and other interesting works created by children from the Regional Rehabilitation Center for the Youth. These are regional centers managed by DSWD for children who are placed on suspended sentence. Some displays are also from ERDA-BK Restore, a program for CICL, and from the Molave Youth Home of QC government.
Plus, your kids will surely enjoy the FREE Face-Painting and FREE Photo-booth!!! So, See YOU!!!
