Info Post

We used our legs for a good cause! Woohoo!

I feel like a proud Maria Clara as I joined “A Run for the Pasig River 2012! The Quezon City Experience!” Yup, it feels so great to end September by taking part in this annual advocacy run! The Run serves as both fundraising and info campaign for the current rehabilitation project of Pasig River and the waterways connected to it.

Start Runnin' Rollin' baby! :D

This is actually my first time to join the Run, well I guess, it’s always better late than never!

We already walked 3 or 4K before reaching the starting line! Whew! Lezz do this, sissy!

So last September 30, Sunday, I crossed paths with early morning air again; met joyous, energetic runners at the Quezon City Circle despite the wet roads; reunited with my running shoes after a year or two; sweat myself up; and felt one with different universities, establishments, organizations, and individuals who all proudly expressed hope for a good change!

We Love Life! :D

It was simply a lovely day of belongingness, or of ‘bayanihan!’ Anyway, ‘Kapit Bisig Para sa Ilog Pasig’ literally means 'linking arms for the Pasig River!' And that was so evident last Sunday!

Only in the Philippines! Taho Break during the marathon! haha!

A Run for the Pasig River 2012 “The Quezon City Experience” had Three(3) categories: 5K Morning Madness (Circle-Tandang Sora Flyover-Circle); 15K Commonwealth Challenge (Circle-Commonwealth Elementary School-Circle), and Ride and Roll (Circle-Commonwealth Elementary School-Circle).

Oh no..! *facepalm* My dear running shoes, why o why did you become a SIRA-nning-shoes today?!
Have to remove both soles now. T_T

“Pasig River was once a source of clean water and a flourishing ecosystem. It used to be a habitat for 25 varieties of fish and 13 different types of aquatic plants.

Whoever wants to rest, there's a pillow over here! ;)

It was a major trading route that served as the main entry point of international traders who did business with Manilenos. This is why the River is believed to be intimately connected to Philippine culture and history.” --KBPIP

Thank you for picking 'em up, dear.
Hmm.. Guys, we know why we joined the run right?! -_-

Yeah! We made it! :D

So altogether, as one nation, let’s learn from the past and give a chance to revive the historic Pasig River! Even if that means giving up your old pair of running shoes! 'Twas definitely a Run to Remember!

They made it, too! ;-)

Well, that was my story about Run, Roll, Rain, SIRA-nning-shoes, Taho Stopovers, and Belongingness! Until next time!
