When I say JUMP, you say HOW HIGH!!!

Coach Levi shares 'Parkour is a method of training one’s body to traverse any terrain. I enjoy Parkour and I just need sportswear and my trainers! (laughs) I can play anywhere, and whenever I want to, even if it’s raining!

This is why we enjoyed that day! :)

It is an art, a discipline. You jump, climb walls, roll on the grounds, and vault over trails to fast and efficiently cross obstacles. You use Parkour during emergency situations: to help someone, or escape from danger.'

If I try it…

Parkour frees the traceur's (practitioner) mind as he/she sees a world without obstacles, whether physical, or mental. It improves the body, mind, and spirit.

World says Hello to PARKOUR! Where.Who.How?

David Belle – Rush Hour Le Parkour (BBC)

Yamakasi is a French group of Traceurs, formed in 1997 by David Belle, Sébastien Foucan, Yann Hnautra, Charles Perrière, Malik Diouf, Guylain N'Guba-Boyeke, Châu Belle-Dinh, and Williams Belle. They discovered the potential of human body. They were the first group to ever form and practise Parkour.

Yamakasi believes that the art du decplacement was not invented and that it exists in prehistory when people need to chase and escape.

Watch BBC’s 2003 documentary, “Jump London” at the end of this article.
It helped spread the word about Parkour.

Parkour in Philippines = PARKOUR PHILIPPINES!

Parkour Philippines (PKPH) aims to spread Parkour locally and for the Philippines to be recognized as part of the global parkour movement. PKPH also hopes to develop practitioners who can also train, motivate and inspire others!

PKPH says…

“If you can run, play, move, jump, think, and be selfless; then you are invited to join. Young or old, male or female. Parkour is not for show, not about being better than others, but about being better than what you were yesterday.”

Coach LEVI shares…

Though Parkour is still young in our country, you may join groups from different places like Baguio, San Pablo, Bacolod, Naga, Davao, Cavite, Lucena, and Laguna who practice Parkour. We, Parkour Philippines, also travel to practice and help train one another!

WOW! Ils sont certifiés par Traceurs français!

Last August 10-12, 2012.  Parkour Philippines' Chad Yee, Philippine Parkour and Freerunning Association's Ben Cabarroguis and Coach Levi Suministrado who used to train with PKPH, got certified by  Parkour Generations level 3 coaches Stephane Vigroux and Dan Edwardes!

The qualification programme provides the industry benchmark for parkour/art du
deplacement instruction, and has been formulated over several years by many of the founding figures of the discipline of parkour/art du deplacement.

TRIVIA Parkour temps!

When doing Parkour, condition your body at least 20-30 minutes and wear sportswear, and trainers!

LEVI and PARKOUR LUCENA!

What if our cops, or our firemen, or rescue teams try Parkour? What if they apply it in what they do? People, most of the time relate Parkour to “Akyat Bahay” but we could look at the positive side first. I also formed a group, "Parkour Lucena."

Last June 8 2011, we conducted a parkour orientation at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Region IV-A, Philippines to. Also, February 4, 2012, Parkour Lucena in cooperation with BJMP 4A and Jail National Training Institute (JNTI), conducted a parkour demo and intro to around 350 graduating recruits of JNTI in Calamba, Laguna.

I also took up a Diploma Course on Human Kinetics here at the University of The Philippines, Diliman to help include Parkour in the university’s curriculum.

Boys and Girls, let Us PARKOUR!

after ten years, I did it! hahaha
I am inviting everyone to train with us, Parkour Philippines!

Parkour has no rules, as long as you can move and there’s something that you can do, you can try it! Di mo naman kailangan makatalon agad ng sobrang taas. You decide on what you can do now, just like in life, you keep training today and soon you can do so much better, you can jump higher! :)
